STCQC PLEDGES TO CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME

The STCQC Community strengthens its commitment and advocacy for the care of our common home by signing the LAUDATO SI’ PLEDGE.

Last Saturday, June 17, 2017, members of the STCQC Community joined other schools and institutions in signing the LAUDATO SI’ PLEDGE. This pledge is a global campaign by the Global Catholic Climate Movement or GCCM and its member organizations in celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical – LAUDATO SI’: On Care for Our Common Home. This encyclical contains Pope Francis’ powerful message about our home’s climate crisis, as well as his call to the Catholic Community to take immediate and urgent action to care for Mother Earth.

Representatives from the STCQC Grade School, High School, and Institutional Personnel participated in the half-day affair which started with the celebration of a Holy Mass by Fr. John Leydon, MSSC, - Chairperson of the GCCM- Pilipinas. A short program followed featuring inspirational messages from Mr. Tomas Insua, Executive Director of GSSM, and the Most Reverend Teodoro C. Bacani, Jr., D.D . Bishop Emeritus of Novaliches.

The highlight of the affair was the signing of the Laudati Si’ Pledge by the individuals and organizations present in the event.

Together with the whole Catholic community, STCQC pledges to:
• pray for and with creation;
• live more simply; and
• advocate to protect our common home.
