• ARTIST NOEL CABANGON SINGS HIS WAY TO THE HEARTS OF THE GRADE 11 STUDENTS OF THE JOURNALISM ELECTIVE CLASS

Multi-talented and multi-awarded artist, Noel Cabangon, graced the Journalism elective class of the Grade 11 level last September 25, to share his insights about the topic, “social awareness through music”. During his two-hour talk, Mr. Cabangon interacted and encouraged the students to ask him questions about his life, beliefs, and advocacies. Much to the delight of everyone, Mr. Cabangon didn’t answer the students’ questions in a straightforward manner similar to any regular question and answer portion. Instead, he let his naturally creative and artistic nature come out, and answered the questions by singing lines and stanzas from his original compositions/songs.

His presence, skillful guitar strumming, soulful voice and heartfelt music mesmerized his audience. It was indeed an enriching experience for all … a treat for the senses and an awakening of one’s passion and love for music and life.

Mr. Cabangon’s visit to STCQC was made possible through the efforts of the Journalism elective class teacher, Ms. Nicolette Dizon. Ms. Dizon is an STCQC alumna and a respected journalist from the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
