The first step to child protection is education. In earnest fulfillment of its Commitment to Child Safety, the STCQC Administration together with the Student Care Council will be holding a Comprehensive Anti-Sexual Harassment in Education (CASE) Workshop in order to equip the faculty, non-teaching personnel, and other stakeholders in the school. The CASE Workshop is a 5-day 8-module interactive online training program that includes gender and international women's rights standards, gender-based violence, and exercises on anti-sexual harassment among other topics.
The CASE Workshop will be conducted by Atty. Clara Rita “Claire” Padilla, founder and executive director since December 2003 of EnGendeRights Inc., a legal non-government organization advancing women's rights through domestic and international legal and policy advocacy, research, publication, training, and impact litigation in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia. She has been a law practitioner for over 26 years, holding a Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila Law School (1993) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from UP Diliman (1988).
Atty. Claire and Atty. Joan De Venecia-Fabul (STCQC Batch '97) worked as co-intervenors before the Supreme Court in Imbong v Ochoa. Atty. Claire also worked with Councilor Mayen Juico (STCQC Batch 2000) in drafting of ordinances and the establishment of the Quezon City Protection Center.
* Atty. Joan De Venecia-Fabul and Councilor Mayen Juico are members of the Advisory Group of the Student Care Council of STCQC.
